As summer approaches our thoughts are starting to formulate plans for the upcoming program.
The hiring of staff is one of the main topics that we must deal with.
There are 2 - back to back - 4 week sessions. Training begins the week of June 13 (dates and times TBD)
Camp Session 1 begins June 20 and ends July 15, with Session 2 July 18 - August 12.
Youth are on site 8:30am - 3:00pm. Staff will be needed before and after those times for setup / prep for next day.
There are some field trips - including water safety at the YMCA.
There is an aide and an instructor in each area:
Kitchen - meals are prepared on site
Bible - we use a VBS format
Math/English - due to a grant, we need to be able to report improvement from beginning of session to end
Arts & Crafts - fun and creativity
Recreation - teamwork - teach them to try new things to be active
Music - there is a fun talent show at the end of each 4 week session
Director - oversees the entire program
As you are aware all employees are hired on an at will basis. This means that employment is for the current year only and each year’s program requires that new applications must be filled out to be considered for employment.
The packet includes 2 clearance forms for the 2016 year program.
